What happens to ROM between clinic visits?

Cervical range of motion is one of the most important indicators of recovery and function in musculoskeletal care. But once a patient leaves the clinic, that data disappears. Weeks pass between appointments. Changes go untracked. Flare-ups go unreported.

AROMatic closes that gap. Clinicians share it with their patients for use at home — no special hardware, no app install, no technical knowledge required. Patients run guided neck movement tests on any webcam-equipped device, and results are available instantly for review.

Three guided tests. Done at home.

Rotation
Top-down view

Yaw-axis tracking via facial landmark geometry. Left and right rotation measured independently with automated endpoint detection.

Normal: 60–80° bilateral (Youdas et al., 1992)
Lateral Flexion
Front view

Roll-axis tracking from frontal view. Shoulder-roll correction applied to isolate cervical contribution. Left and right measured independently.

Normal: 40–45° bilateral (AAOS)
Flexion / Extension
Side view

Pitch-axis measurement from sagittal profile. Full range captured in a single test sequence with automated neutral detection.

Flexion 45–50°  ·  Extension 60–75°

Prescribed by clinicians. Used at home.

Your clinician shares a link. You take it from there.

01
Open the link

Your clinician sends you a link. Open it in Chrome on any device with a camera — laptop, tablet, or phone. No install, no account.

02
Get positioned

On-screen instructions and voice guidance walk you through exactly where to sit and how to hold your head for each test.

03
Do the movements

Follow the spoken and written prompts to slowly turn, tilt, and nod your head. The app tracks your movement automatically — no buttons to press.

04
Save & share results

A PDF report with your measurements is generated instantly. Save it and bring it to your next appointment, or share it directly with your clinician.

Your camera. Your data. Your device.

AROMatic uses your webcam to track head position in real time. Here's exactly what that means — and what it doesn't.

📷
Camera access is required

When you launch AROMatic, your browser will ask permission to use your camera. This is needed to detect facial landmarks and measure cervical angles. You'll see a clear consent screen before any permission request is made.

🔒
Video never leaves your device

All image processing happens locally inside your browser using on-device machine learning. No video, images, or personal data are transmitted to any server. Nothing is recorded or stored externally — ever.

🎯
What the camera actually tracks

AROMatic uses MediaPipe to detect facial landmarks — nose tip, eye corners, mouth corners — and shoulder position. These geometric points are used to calculate head angles in three planes. Only the resulting angle numbers are saved, not images.

🧍
What you're asked to do

You sit facing the camera and center your face in an on-screen target ring. Voice and text prompts guide you through slow, deliberate head movements — turning, tilting, and nodding — through a comfortable range of motion.

🛡️

No cloud. No account. No upload. AROMatic is fully self-contained in a single browser file. Measurement data stays on your device and is exported only when you choose to save a report. Camera access can be revoked in your browser settings at any time.
